High-intensity interval training and moderate intensity training with exogenous adenosine counteract development of obesity in rats

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Moderate Intensity (MIT) can combat the obesity epidemic. However, studies comparing their effects on show controversial findings regarding weight loss. Adenosine has emerged as a possible, novel therapeutic agent to treat obesity, but more preclinical its efficacy are needed. Therefore, objectives of this study were compare HIIT MIT further determine dose-dependent adenosine body weight. We induced in male Wistar rats with high-fat diet (HFD) monitored development by normal (ND). After 13 weeks feeding, exercise training intraperitoneal or placebo injections started. The animals divided into intervention groups based equal average weight: (1) ND-1, 2) ND-2, (3) HFD, (4) HFD + placebo, (5) adenosine, (6) HIIT, (7) (8) MIT, (9) MIT. During first six interventions, was injected at dose 0.2 mg/ml/kg following 0.4 mg/ml/kg. Weight feed consumption determined, energy intake calculated kJ/day. started cause after 19 feeding.
